No Thanks To Give

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friendos! I made a special map to commerate, with all the butterflies kicking into effect.

• The divergence date is the year 1620. Here, the Plymouth colony ended up failing. This was largely in part due to negative relationships with the natives and bad decisions led to the tribes exploiting their hunger and destorying the colony, killing the men and taking the women and children. The victory over them led to a rally against the other British settlements. This led to the destruction fo Jamestown and the rest of the British colonies, blaming them for bringing the mysterious sickness.
  

• The British decided to cut their losses and focus on colonizing the East. This let the French, the Spanish and the Dutch to carve out most of the New World for themselves. The Dutch learned from the mistakes of the British and sent their colonizers with better intent and ensuring positive relationships and cooperations to succeed in colonizing. Thanks to teaming up with some tribes in tribal warfare, the Dutch colonies have been doing well where the British failed. Furthermore, when the Dutch saw their Empire was in the twilight years, they began a gradual process of giving their colonies autonomy to become nations in their own right. The Dutch Republic is on the best terms with their former colonies and their allies.
  

• Meanwhile, France took lessons from the Dutch and similar things with their colonies. However, the French were able to retain their colonies, even after the French Revolution. In fact, the French Revolution inspired the people of the Louisiana territory. When Napoleon eventually was defeated, he and his followers instead fled to Louisiana and established a nation under the philosphy of Rosseau, creating a proper republic and making peace with the Amerindians. The French monarchy weren't happy about that though matters improved with the rise of the French Republic.
  

• France and Spain eventually entered war with one another due to conflicts in America. Despite being evenly matched, the French gained the upper hand when the Italians helped them out and even British sent a few ships to the French when a Spanish ship attacked Britain. The war resulted in a unified Italian state and the Italians being granted their own American colony, the territory of Mexico. As another kick to the Spanish, the upper classes were uprooted in a revolution by the Mexicans and the Italian immgirants. Viva la revolucion!
  

• Lastly, the wave of revolutions convinced Simon Bolivar to free the other New Spain territories. With France and Rosseau helping out, the Federacion de Bolivar was born, with Bolivar becoming a national hero and founding a republic. While there were several difficult moments due to Bolivar's conservative views clashing with the progressive views of his allies, the nation eventually stabilized to become a federation.
  

• The British did very well in the east however. They managed to get a strong alliance with Japan and they kept a fair advantage on the Russians in regards to the Great Game throughout the entire time. This resulted in Britain control nearly the entire Middle East along with parts of Oceania. However, they are also on somewhat tense terms with China, but matters diffused over the years. The British transitioned in a constitutional monarchy to better control their domain while also to improve their image after being compared to Russia's absolute tsardom too much for their liking.
  

• The Ottoman Empire focused on Arabia rather than Africa when push came to shove. This decision became applauded when the Ottomans found plenty of oil and Arabia and becoming very wealthy and powerful as a result. This gave them alot of political clout while also causing progressive attitudes to develop within. They ended siding with the Germans, wanting to reclaim the parts of Africa that the British have gotten control over ever since.
  

• When the German nation began, their rising stardom and power took Europe by surprise and they began feeling threatened by the imperial directions of the kaiser. EVentually alliances began forming and sides were being chosen. Austria-Hungary sided with Germany and when France sided with Britain, Spain and Portugal joined up due to vengeance against the French. The New Roman Republic sided with the French and British along with the Dutch. This careful creation of alliances is to ensure deterrants for a large war. However, a world war seems inevitable and there has been trouble in the Principaility of Andorra as a result.

• Tech is behind by a couple of years because of the lack of a world war. However, this is mitigated by the pursuits of education, especially by plenty of the contributions by the Germans. However, a great boon of technology may appear if a great war were to happen.
